SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR JULY!
Due to Independence Day, the July edition of Another Round Storytelling takes place on Tuesday, July 2nd, instead of its usual date at LaunchPad (721 Franklin Ave., Brooklyn, NY) at 8 p.m.
Everything else is the same: five 10-minute open mic slots followed by a special guest, which will be storyteller and comedy writer LESLIE GOSHKO, host of Sideshow Goshko! And, as always, a tasty beverage will be available for your drinking pleasure, so bring your best boozy tales and toss your name in the cocktail shaker!
Leslie Goshko is the host and creator of the monthly storytelling series Sideshow Goshko, as well as a Manhattan Monologue Slam champion and a contributing blogger for the Huffington Post. Her stories and comedy writing have been featured on SiriusXM, WNYC and New York Metro’s “Funny Page,” and thanks to the support of many Internet voters, she performed with the cast of “Hairspray” on Broadway. Her favorite drink is Ketel One vodka and seltzer with lime.
Every month, Another Round Storytelling serves up a new batch of stories in which alcohol is the star, or at least plays a supporting role. Five people are randomly chosen and receive 10 minutes at the mic. Then a featured headliner takes the stage to close out the show. The suggested donation is $5, and all proceeds help fund LaunchPad, a nonprofit arts and performance space in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

This month’s installment features Jefferson, a self-described “parent and pervert” who runs the Bare! and Spill! storytelling series in New York City, Boston and Washington, D.C. Please join us for tales of drinking and debauchery — and throw your name in the cocktail shaker for the chance to tell your own!

A sex educator and writer, Jefferson details his life as a parent and pervert on the blog One Life, Take Two and has taught at such events as Dark Odyssey, The Geeky Kink Event and The Floating World. He is also a storyteller who’s won The Moth StorySlam and can be seen frequently on stages around New York City and elsewhere. In addition, Jefferson hosts two storytelling series: Bare! True Stories of Sex, Desire and Romance (monthly in Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C.) and Spill! True Stories of Queer Sex, Desire and Romance (monthly in New York City and Washington, D.C.). His favorite drink is Bourbon.

After a two-month hiatus, Another Round Storytelling relaunches on Thursday, April 4th, 2013, with the same format as before: five 10-minute open mic slots followed by a tale from a special guest. All stories should be true and have something to do with drinking. And as always, your $5 suggested donation includes free signature cocktails created by host Amber Drea!
Another Round Storytelling takes place every first Thursday of the month at 8 p.m. at LaunchPad (721 Franklin Ave., Brooklyn, New York), a nonprofit arts and events space in Crown Heights.
John Flynn is a writer, actor and comedian who appears monthly on “Nights of Our Lives” at UCB Chelsea and hosts the weekly open mic storytelling show “Oh, Hey Guys!” at UCB East. He’s performed stand-up and storytelling all over the country and is currently putting together a recording of his musical theater stories called “Faggot Munchkin.” John’s favorite alcohol is rum, but he’ll drink whatever someone buys him.
